Bright Futures After School Program

Dolphin Families,

Traditionally our after-school Bright Futures program is able to serve 100 students. Due to staffing shortages, we currently only have 40 spots available. Boys & Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County is working diligently to hire additional staff so we can add more students to our program.

After in person registration on Monday, August 16th, a lottery will be held to determine which students will be enrolled in the program. If a child is chosen from the lottery and has siblings, his or her siblings will automatically be enrolled. You will receive a parent square message on Tuesday, August 17th informing you whether your child has been enrolled in Bright Futures or placed on the waitlist.

All students not picked from the lottery will be automatically placed on a waitlist and offered a spot in the program once more staff is hired. If this after school program is not an essential service for your family please consider postponing your enrollment request and join the waitlist. Applications to join the waitlist can be picked up from the school office during normal school hours.

Boys and Girls Clubs of South San Luis Obispo County will offer a before school paid enrichment program. Please visit https://www.bgcslo.org/programs.html for pricing, enrollment dates and more information.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused your family. We are hopeful we’ll have more staffing in the near future to serve our families in need of this important service.

Sincerely,

Kelci Gonzalez, Bright Futures Academic Liaison

Michelle Johnson, Oceano Elementary Principal
